Armed Training verification due for 2008!
Every calendar year
after the issuance of the Armed Security Guard license, an armed
guard must have 8 hours of refresher training from a DPS-Certified
firearms instructor. When training is completed, the signed
ARMED Security Guard Training Verification form must be provided
to the DPS Licensing unit. It may be dropped off, mailed or faxed
to the Licensing Unit. Forms for 2008 training must be received
at DPS no later than January 31, 2009.
If the 2008 training verification form
is not received by this deadline, the Armed Security Guard license(s)
will be suspended. A reinstatement fee of $25.00 and sixteen hours
of firearms training will then be required to reverse the suspension.
