Fee Reduction

Effective on March
19, 2012, the FBI fingerprint processing fee will be reduced to $22.00.
This will affect all applications that need a fingerprint card with the
Licensing Unit. Applications with fingerprint cards postmarked before
March 19, 2012 will still require the $24.00 fee.

The submission of older and outdated applications
may delay the processing times and approval of your registration or license.

The Deadline for the 2011
Armed Refresher Training
Verifications
has passed!
All armed security guards who did not submit their 2011 armed
refresher training verification forms have been suspended. A reinstatement fee
of $25.00 and sixteen hours of firearms training will be required to reverse the
suspension.
Unarmed Training Verification Form
Revised

There has been a revision of the Security Guard Unarmed Training Verification
Form.
This
half page form is now divided in three sections. The first section is to be
completed by the security guard applicant. The second section needs to be filled
by the training facility, authorized instructor or security guard agency that is
conducting the unarmed training. The third section needs to be signed by the
qualifying party or resident manager of the security guard agency that is hiring
or sponsoring the security guard.
Please start using this new form immediately. Older
forms will still be processed, however you may receive a courtesy call from our
office requesting that you start using the new form. The new form can be
downloaded from our
Forms list on
our Licensing Unit website.
Complaint Form

Complaints against security guards, private investigators or their agencies
must be submitted in writing. Please use this form to file a complaint.
The complaint form needs to be printed, filled out and faxed or mailed to the
licensing unit.

Overview
The Licensing Unit operates under
authority of the State of Arizona Security Guards law, Arizona Revised Statute
§32-2601
through
§32-2642 and
Private Investigators law, Arizona Revised Statute
§32-2401
through
§32-2461 and
Arizona Administrative Rules Title 13,
Chapter 2 and
Chapter 6.
The Licensing Unit regulates security
guards, security guard agencies, private investigators and private investigative
agencies. Additionally, the unit accepts complaints from the public and enforces
statutory laws and administrative rules pertaining to those entities.
